I have tried searching on this, but I have a question for you guys.

I am already running FileVault, but due to the large amount of macs being stolen on my campus recently I want to also turn on an open firmware password.

I have both prey and find my mac enabled on my MBP.

If I add a firmware password, can someone still log into the guest account in order to give prey and find my mac a location to work with?

and how do I do this? the guides I have seen have all disagreed.

17" MBP 8,3 running OSX 10.7.2

Thanks all!

I am using FV2 and and EFI password and you still get the "guest" account on the login screen. If a thief clicks the guest account the system reboots to a Safari only mode that runs from the Recovery HD partition and Find my Mac will work. Prey will not work with this setup.
