Just wondered if, when using the "Open In" feature, it copies the file you are opening from the source app sandbox to the target app sandbox, therefore duplicating the file and taking up twice the space.

To my understanding the system copy the files between the sandboxes; therefore you will have multiple copies without some house keeping. That's actually one of our problems in business life with the iPad ...
But typically, isn't that done from an email (no duplication) or in a program that require the file to be altered for other reasons?
