I am trying to open multiple Numbers spreadsheets using the public beta of iPadOS16 Stage Manager with external monitor. It seems very flaky in that if I try to open new spreadsheet on iPad, the one on external monitor returns to iPad instead - and it is a right pain.

Has anyone worked out how this can be done? I just give up and switch off Stage Manager

Yes it can be done.. I just tried it myself.

You have to open up the Numbers app on the external monitor and if you want another one open… drag the app from the dock. It’s the same approach you do with drag and drop when it comes to SplitView/SlideOver.

My apologies… I re read. You are trying to have one app on the iPad AND that same app on the external monitor. As far as I know… this cannot be done. Maybe it changes in the future… but you cannot have multiple windows of the same app on both the iPad and external monitor.
