Open Office

I have a Mac OSX Version 10.4.11 and being new to apple I wanted to obtain a free download for a basic works office can anyone help me Please ? nothing too complicated.

Funny thing is the tittle of your thread is the very name of a free and open-source project. Open Office 3.0, NeoOffice, Abiword are things you can look into. I recommend Open Office. I hope that's what you mean by, "basic works office." Correct me if I'm wrong.

Open Office forever!

Totally OpenOffice. But the presentation program isn't that great.

If you ask me use Google Docs, really simple and useful as you can get it on any computer that's online. And now you can get it offline on your computer.

If you're on a Mac, forget about Open Office. NeoOffice is what you should try.

Open Office 3.X has been updated and now is compatible with the Aqua desktop which is used by OS X. Many new enhancements which make it a better choice over NeoOffice.

If you just need a free Word Processor, then I recommend the very easy to use "Bean". It's free and resembles iWork 2008 Pages.
