Wow. I've been using Perian forever. Like the article said, however, it's necessity has been waning for a little while, although it's still very nice to have. I hope someone else will pick up the development.

That's one of the first (if not the first) 3rd party thing I install on any system...

Mainly for FLVs but for other format as well (why QT doesn't freely support those formats is beyond me).




On a side note: iOS, new Macs, the updated Safari and expensive Adobe pricing... Maybe it *is* the end of Flash at last

I really hope it'll work with ML. Does anyone know if it works on the latest DP?

Also, hopefully someone will pick it up, the alternatives suck. I love how integrated Perian is/was.

I have both...I meant a plugin that lets you view the formats in Quicktime Player.

None that I know of. So far as I know, Perian is unique, which is why this will be such a loss.
