On my Core Duo iMac, using Activity Monitor, I see a number of PPC programs running, called openmonitor, openinfo, openexec and 6 instances of OpenBase.

I noticed this some time ago, but only just decided to ask about this now because I just realised OpenBase is in my /Library/StartupItems (I am a bit worried about installing the new security update, and the Apple discussion forums suggest that having PPC apps in the StartupItems is a common thread in these update problems).

I think this probably has something to do with Palm Desktop software I installed, which is also PPC only. Can anyone confirm? Does anyone else have this running that doesn't have Palm software? Any idea what will happen if I kill this and remove it from /Library/StartupItems ?
