OpenCL and MacPro

I thought about this recently...and even ran across someone asking something in the MacPro forum.

If OpenCL will be able to take advantage of the GPU for other tasks...would having 4 Graphics cards in a MacPro, even if I'm only using one of them to drive a single monitor....technically be adding more expansive power as a whole?

If that makes sense.
