opening FCP=Kernel Attack

ok maybe someone could help me

G5 2.5, 2 GB Ram, 250GB HDD (55 GB left), NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL

FCP version 5.04

ok when i open the project, which isn't very big... 15 GB at the most, the FC screen appears... loads stuff than bam

gray screen tells me to restart, whole deal

i've tried putting the project on an external and internal hard drives.. both yield the same result.

now this isn't limited to just this specific project... all projects fail to open...

an extended test on Apple's hardware test shows no hardware issues.


any idea what could be causing this?

Use FCP 5 Rescue
