Picture a scene where you're browsing your favourite website, for instance BBC Sport on a Saturday. You may open this with Chrome or indeed Safari. Then, for some reason, you want to play an episode of the Inbetweeners. Of course, you need a Finder to do this.

How would you open a new finder window without 1) minimising, clicking desktop and command+n 2) anything else that involves using a mouse.

I naturally do it by clicking Command + N, however if Chrome/Safari is open, that will simply create a new window of that application. Is there a way around this?

I don't think there's an in-built way of doing what you're asking for; you could try something like Fastscripts to add a global keyboard shortcut.

Edit - of course you could also use Expose to switch to another app without leaving fullscreen, but that might not be what you're looking for.
