I've purchased an iBook, which contains various image and video files which I would like to access, but cannot currently open in any program. Attempting to open them in Photoshop displays an error message of "Could not complete your request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found" or "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file", depending on what image format they are. When playing the videos in iTunes I am met either with a grey picture or an endless loop of having to authenticate playback on my Mac.

Is there any way to open these files? Are they encrypted due to DRM, or just formatted for iPad in a way that cannot be understood by a Mac? I am using OS X 10.6.8 if that is any help.

Cheers.
