Opening iMovie '08 files in '06

[CMD is me]

I just installed iMovie 08 so I use a AVCHD camera. Works great. But '08 seems to lacking many features, plus its really confusing (totally different from '06). I thought you could import into 08, save then open and edit in 06. I can't even figure out how to "save as" in 08. I found the 08 files (automatically named "my first project" and "event....") but can't open either in 06.

Can iMovie 6 open '08 files and if so, how?

I'm not sure about opening '08 in '06, but you might want to watch some of the online tutorials.
