How exactly does this work? I keep hearing people say you can open PDF, Word and Excel documents on the iPhone, but what opens them? Can you store them on the iPhone itself and open them? Do you have to click on a website link to open them from there?

they need to be email attachments. you can't directly put files onto the iphone for later viewing. they need to be emailed to you, though you can certainly email yourself.
