Hi
I am unable to open Password Protected Microsoft Office Documents that are saved in 1997-2004 formats (.xls and .doc)
I can open later formats (.xlsx and .docx) no problem
My current workaround is to email these to a colleague (using a PC running Windows 8) who opens them using the password i give her, then saves them as .xlsx or .docx and emails them back to me. As you can imagine this is pretty time consuming and defeats the object of keeping the contents confidential to me!
Has anyone got any ideas of why this is happening or what I can do about it?
I use a Macbook Pro, running OS X current version 10.6.8, and Word and Excel for Mac 2008, current versions 12.3.6
