I have a Macbook Pro 16 with M3-processor and 36 GB RAM. since I upgraded to macOS sequoia 15.0.1 there are problems with RAM-memory. If I let analyze chessgames with the Stockfish-software. The system shows 18 GB RAM in use. Before I could calculate nearly up to 20 chessgames, now i'm happy, to analyze 4 games.
The day before yesterday I upgraded Stockfish to version 17 on the Mac. The software shows another issue: it can't open files, it stored before and I must enter the moves bit by bit …
Although the MS-Office programs (especially Word & Excel) have sometimes problems to open files. When i'm in Excel or Word and want to open a file within those programs, i get the big Open-dialog and have to „free“ the file and can't load it. When I go to the Finder and double-click, the file opens without complaining …
What's with the problem with the current macOS Sequoia 15.0.1???

Better off reviewing or creating issues in project GitHub repo

Today I updated to Sequoia 15.1. Same thing; it doesn't work …

The latest source code updates would seem to relate to opening PGN files. https://github.com/daylen/stockfish-mac

Are you running the latest version? I found a build dated 7 September. If that doesn't work, you need to talk to the developer and/or build from latest source.

Edit: I see that the App Store version was updated 15 hours ago. The What's New says "Fixes a bug where PGN files could not be opened". Maybe that fixes your issue.

Today the Stockfish-App opens *.PGN-files. A big stone fell from my heart.
The programmers made a good job.
Thanks very much to all of You. The big problem seems solved …
