macOS Opening the plist in Hello I/O Kit

I am reading the document titled "Hello I/O Kit: Creating a Device Driver With Xcode". Under "Edit the Driver's Property List" it tells what to do in order to edit the driver's Info.plist. I have run steps 1-6 but when running step 1 of the "Now you can edit ..." paragraph, the list still comes up showing the XML. Maybe the documentation is out of date ... does anyone know the proper procedure to view the plist properly?
 
Never mind. I found the problem. The document is incorrect in one place. In step 3 where it says "text.xml" change that to "text.plist".
