The laptop I have is an iBook G4, 1.07GHz so its not THAT old and slow, but when it comes to having 5-8 tabs open with only 512MB of RAM, things slow down.
Turning on Opera's Turbo Mode however, seems to speed things up drastically. Pages load quickly, since all the rendering is done on their server instead of on your local machine.
The only downside is that colors don't always load properly, images are a bit fuzzy, but if you're browsing to download a high-quality image then just turn it off for a bit.
Would people with G3s/G4s give it a try and post your results here?
