hi,
A friend highlighted that the freezing conditions outside may pose a risk to my Air.

I read the Apple guidelines:
"Use your Mac laptop where the ambient temperature is between 50° and 95° F (10° and 35° C). Don’t leave your Mac laptop in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range."

Hardware manufacturers are often cautious as they don't want the liability. Please advise what your knowledge or experience is of using or having your Air outside? How much of a threat is a freezing cold icey day?
Thanks

Li-ion cells get permanently damaged if charged at freezing temps. There was somebody here that brought in a cold soaked MacBook from their car and charged it. The battery was permanently damaged. If you’re using it outside in ultra cold temps, don’t charge until it’s back to room temp.

Thank you @JPack, that's very helpful to know, if it's the charging that does the damage.

@1BadManVan , Thanks for the question - Macbook Air is spending 4-8 hours outside in temperatues of 26-37F. Most of that time switched off in a bag, with occassional use.

Thank you
