Opinion for a broken macbook pro screen

My boyfriend's macbook pro crashed and the condition of it when it works is like that in the picture. Do you think this is because of broken crystals or because something got off its place, so it can be fixed? I ask you this question because i have seen another broken screen and it was completely black in the area that didnt work, not with such colours.

Could be as simple as a connection cable being loose or damaged. Could be graphics card. Definitely does NOT look like the display is broken.

Looks like it is exactly in the center of the screen.

Prolly loose / cut video cable.

Check out the guides at iFixIt.com and see if you can't make sure everything is plugged in good

Scottsdale, shoulin333, thank you so much for your advice. The problem is that fixing it in a store i guess that will cost very expensive, so i ll try the site you suggested to help me fix it on my own. Thank you again.
