Opinion on resale of my Mini M1

Dear friends,
I'm the happy owner of a 2020 Mini M1 with 16GB RAM with a beautiful 32" LG 4K display. Very satisfied for all of my tasks.

The only problem is that I sometimes travel to give presentations at conferences and currently have no laptop, just my Mini and my iPhone13.

What pros and cons would you see if I sold my Mini (no idea of a fair price request for it btw) and get a Macbook used with my LG while at home but also could have it with me traveling?

Thanks for your experience/opinions/data

The only difference is the display and a battery, as the Macbook has both and the Mini doesn't, so I am not sure what you are asking for.

I am aware of that difference. My question would be twofold:
a) any idea of a fair resale price of my current mini?
b) will I be able to work well with the MacBook connected to the external display?
Thank you

You said you only "sometimes" travel to give presentations. There are portable LCD screens that you can attach to the Mac Mini.

I suppose it all depends which you will use most -- a desktop for one location, or a laptop for frequently moving around.

If you mostly use it at one location such as your home or office -- and only "sometimes" travel -- and if you were willing to take a loss from the resale, you could put that money you were prepared to lose towards a portable LCD screen. There are portable 15" screens and various other sizes.

Interesting idea although lugging around the mini with a portable screen keyboard and trackpad/mouse looks a bit cumbersome :( Thank you.

Now this is a very good idea, stupid me I didn't think about it.
As a matter of fact I don't need to "develop" on the portable, just go around it to give lectures/demos.

The only drawback is keeping my rather complex SW installations aligned on the two different boxes.

Thank a lot
