What is your opinion to upgrade your mac to the latest version of OS either 10.9 / 10.10 if your machine is prior 2010 which would be a Intel Core 2 Duo models?

Have you upgraded and had slowness issues?
What is the best minimum memory that makes the computer run smoothly with the latest systems?

Have you done it and what was the results?

would you stay on 10.6?

Adding RAM will make MUCH LESS of a difference, than will having an SSD.

Both Mavericks and Yosemite seem to have been designed using Macs that had SSD's installed.
This isn't to say that either OS won't run on older Macs that still use platter-based HDD's.
However, it -may- seem that the new OS's aren't so much "running" on those machines, as they are -walking- .

Having said that, I find 10.8.5 to still run very well on such older Macs...
