I am considering replacing my (2014) Mac Mini 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 16GB with a 13" MacBook Pro 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, 16GB

My main reason is portability. Being tied down to a desktop display (27" Apple LED Cinema Display) is getting less appealing for my workflow.
I mainly use Illustrator — very light Rhino 3D and a bit of Photoshop.

The Mini has not let me down and is more than adequate for my needs. So portability aside, what might I be losing or gaining by switching to a MacBook Pro?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Having to deal with various adapters would be the main issue with the new MBPs. I recently got a new work laptop, was using a MBP 2013 and moved to 2016 MBP and since my work didn't remember to order adapters I haven't been able to connect basically anything but my USB-C Android phone to it.

I guess the adaptors is the major concern… and also I am not sure that it is possible (as yet) to get a USB-C connection to a LED Cinema Display.
