Ok guys, I am a little confused with all of the Plex, XMBC, original ATV and Jailbreak discussions and what exactly I would gain.
I am in military and live in Japan. I want to stream TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc to my HDMI input plasma TV. I can only use them on my MacBook Pro right now when I use the Hotspot Shield VPN. The cable here sucks and I am deployed most of year so I don't want to pay for cable either.
I can not get anything on my PS3, unless I use Play On wirelessly through my home PC, but the video is choppy and cuts out a lot.
Would a MacMini with an external for extra storage be my best solution?? I am not worried about audiophile quality, just better than what I have cause I can always use MacMini as home set up once I move back stateside.
Sorry for long noob post, but I will appreciate any help I can get.
