Specifically, when OPT clicking the X on a Messages conversation, I keep getting the confirm delete dialog on my MB 12. On my MBP 15, this key combo deletes the conversation with no confirmation popup, as expected and as desired.

The OPT key seems to work fine everywhere else on the system and in all other apps so it's not a hardware issue. I've killed all other open apps, still no go.

And why do I care? Because for some reason, I have a bunch of Messages conversations on my MB 12 that I already deleted on iOS and/or on my MBP that are still showing up on my MB 12, despite having Messages in the Cloud turned on. Is this by design?

It's so annoying to not have a way to select multiple conversations to delete, and it's now compounded by an annoying dialog with every delete.

Any ideas how to at least get the OPT-DEL functionality back?

This is probably related to having the "Save history when conversations are closed" option enabled in Messages on the Mac.

I wish it was. It's turned off on both my machines. In fact, the only way I even discovered there was an OPT modifier for clicking the X was because I googled "deleting multiple conversations" and found a thread where the OP was asking how to do that because they were annoyed by all the confirmation dialogs. The only mitigating solution offered was the OPT-DEL combo to at least bypass the confirmations.

If you left swipe on a message with your Magic Mouse, Delete shows up and clicking the red Delete makes the message gone, with no confirmations.

I didn't know about the swipe, so thanks for that, but alas, I'm still presented with a confirmation.
