Optibay, anyone find a Solution to Stop HDD from Spinning?

I have read multiple threads of people who seem to have the same issue I am experiencing. I just installed Optibay with my 500gb HDD in the optical space and my SSD filling the spot of my traditional hard drive slot. Even when the HDD is unmounted it seems to continue to spin which is obviously problematic for battery life.

Anyone figure out a solution yet?

Place the SSD in your optical drive bay.
Place the HHD in your 'original' HDD bay.

HDD will spin down provided it's not getting indexed by spotlight and the option, put hard disk/s to sleep when possible is selected under energy preference
