optibay hard drive not sleeping after closing lid

i have hdd in my optibay and i noticed its not sleeping when i close the lid

i even bought cocktail for 19 bucks to sleep the drive and sometimes i hear the drive still spinning after i close the lid.

any ideas in how to fix this? its quite annoying and possibly dangerous for the drive, when carrying my mbp in my backpack. any help is greatly appreciated.

Is it spinning for a while, or just a few seconds after closing the lid?

Is it spinning for a while, or just a few seconds after closing the lid?

i noticed yesterday it was spinning 10 minutes after i closed my lid, and a few times i left my mbp on but shut with like 40% battery and woke up and it was dead. i figured maybe i didn't realize how low the battery was but now i know..
