Optibay harddrive keeps waking up when I wake the computer.

I have a harddrive in the optibay, and I really don't need it all the time, so I like to have it just ejected, and manually mount it when I need it. Problem is that everytime I wake my laptop, I can hear the optibay hardrive sortof wake up, or spin up, and it will keep spinning until I Eject it again. It has an affect on my battery life, so I'm really hoping to resolve that issue. It doesn't wake up when the computer boots up from a complete shut down, but it does when it gets woken from sleep.

Is this normal optibay behavior?
