Hello:
I installed a Samsung SSD and a WD HDD created a fusion drive and everything is going swimmingly. ....but the optical drive adapter did not fit properly and I resorted to taping it onto the optical drive plastic bracket. I am concerned that over time the tape will deteriorate and potentially cause problems. Thus I have on order another optical drive adapter that will fit. I am concerned that when I reopen the 2007 imac and install the new optical disk HHd bay that I could screw up the fusion drive as it is now. Anyone have experience with this? Can I just swap and have no problems? I know on a fusion drive that a failure of either SSD or HDD will nook the fusion drive. Any experience on this matter would be appreciated.
cheers

I had a home brew Fusion Drive, and removed the SSD and updated the firmware in another Mac, put it back and the FD was still OK.
