Well I just received my MacBook that I got off eBay. When I first get it, everything seems to be going wrong. First, I asked the guy if the casing had any cracks and he said no. Of course, I get it and the palmrests have cracks and there are cracks appearing around the top edge of the display bezel. I figure ok, it's a used MacBook and I only paid $400 for it which is a great deal considering how much these go for refurbished still (plus, I know Apple is replacing cases still so that makes me feel alot better). So I open it up and boot it up and everything seems ok, but I try to get my Snow Leopard DVD in the drive and it won't go in. You can't push the DVD in at all, but I finally force it in the slot and I'm able to get the OS loaded. I go to eject it and get nothing at all... I hear the disk trying to eject but it doesn't come out. Of course I go through the whole ordeal of booting up the computer and holding the mouse button, resetting the SMU, etc. That disk is just stuck in the computer.

Since this is my 2nd WhiteBook and 3rd MacBook total I take the computer apart to explore the problem. I get to the optical drive and take it out and see there is a chrome hinge that allows CDs to be inserted into the computer. Well that little hinge is stuck in one position and does not move enough to allow the drive to work. So my question is, is there a way to fix that little hinge so I don't have to buy a new drive? The drive itself works great, just that little hinge doesn't have enough movement to allow disks to eject or be inserted. Sorry for the long post!
