Optical Drive in USB case

Hi,
I recently installed my HDD in my OptiBay and got an external housing for the Super Drive ( USB )
But the problem is that everytime i put a CD in, it would spin for awhile but wouldn't read and spits the disc back out. If anyone has any experience can you please help me out? Much appreciated.
