I know I've seen this on the Forum before, but I can't find it at the moment.
I've been trying to use BootCamp to install XP on a 10GB partition. I've formatted the partition to FAT32. So far so good. When I try to install XP the optical drive keeps ejecting the disc. It spins up, grinds away for a few seconds, maybe up to a minute, then ejects the disc. Sometimes I get a message saying the install disc can't be found.
I've tried three different XP discs that were around the office all with the same result. I think all the discs say they are for distribution with a new computer (but we still have unused keys for these discs which is why I'm trying).
This is on an early 2008 Macbook Pro 2.5GH, 4GB RAM, and running 10.6.3
Bonus question: Any idea where I can buy a genuine Windows XP Pro disc that will not be a fake? And how much should that cost. I'm interested in vendors in the US and UK.
Thanks
