Optical Out Users

Hi All, for those of you that use the optical out for sound. Can you confirm that when you boot up your computer, the boot up sound plays on the laptop speakers and not the external speakers you have it connected to?

Thanks alphaod. Out of curiosity, do you know why that is? My only guess is that the optical switch is handled via software. I've always assumed it's a physical switch within the port that triggers whether or not the sound is to come out of the speakers and not software.
