hello guys, i just bought a macpro and i was wondering if theres any hardware that can convert its optical output to 6 common channels for a 5.1 sound system because my speakers do not have any optical inputs. Anywayz, ive searched on my own to find some speakers with optical input but those i found are too expensive... ty in advance

Just buy a receiver with optical in. Any made in the last ten+ years should have it.

is there a receiver with optical in and 6 local 3,5mm outputs?
i found that creative ecoder but im not sure if it works.
suggest me some receivers plx

You can convert from 3.5mm to rca. Sometimes audio requires a bit of frankenstienism.

It sounds to me that you're just lacking an opitcal port for your surround setup. Why not just plug your current setup into the headphone port? It's still going to give you pretty good sound without having to buy an extra gadget.

If you do buy a new reciever, remember that audio imputs, for the most part, can be readapted fairly easily with adapters found at many stores.
