I've read the various threads about overheating and like, and I have loaded smcFanControl. Although I have yet to have any specific issues with heat, it has gotten hot at times. What I would like to to know, based on the SMC temperature reading, what is the optimum temp to be at? What is too hot. I've been trying to keep it around 115-140ish. I know I could run the fans at 4000rpm all the time and keep it real cool, but that's of course loud and doesn't seem necessary

It depends on air pressure, relative humidity and what hemisphere you inhabit.

As long as I don't burn my family jewels, I'm not concerned one bit my running temperature...

115 - 140?....thats 46 - 60 degress celcuis! Im going from an acer that runs from 32-44 degrees celcius (shuts down at 44) 111 degrees Fahrenheit ie.

Do macs run so hot?
