Optimal Resolution for 20" Cinema?

I broke down and ordered the 20" Apple Cinema Display for my forthcoming G5 - but Apple's policy for dead pixels scared me and I bought it from Best Buy on-line. Should look good!

Q: For picture clarity what is the optimal resolution for the 20" Apple Cinema?

I know with other brands such as Viewsonic, there is a substantial difference in clarity between 1280x1024 which is the suggested resolution for their 17" LCD and any other resolution you might try. Just want to make sure I get the most out of my new hardware. Thanks in advance.

It's an LCD so it looks best in its native resolution.

For just $1299 — about half the cost of the previous generation — the 20-inch (viewable) Apple Cinema Display delivers up to 1680-by-1050-pixel resolution.

So 1680x1050 it is. Not a very common resolution is it?

Heh. No, but that's a hell of a lot of pixels! Should look good

Yeah, you want to keep it at 1680x1050 all the time. I've played with it a lot at CompUSA, and changing the resolution on it just makes it look blurry. It's a beautiful display, but unlike CRTs, you really need to keep it at it's native resolution to get a good image.
