iPhone 14 Pro Max Optimized battery charging never worked?

Had my phone since 9.18, and optimized battery charging never seems to work.
I'm on IOS1 16.1, and charge my phone overnight every two days.
So far I've tried turning optimized charging on/off, clearing significant locations, and using different chargers(wired/wireless) ,and none of those seem to get this feature to work.

Any idea of what's going on here? Or should I just stop charging overnight?

It requires consistent charging behaviour to start working. If you only charge every two days it might not meet that requirement. Or maybe it could just be taking longer to find the pattern.

Yeah maybe I should just charge my phone to 100% before I go to bed. I barely use my phone and usually have about 40% battery left the second day
