My S10 was set to optimized charging and only charged to 80%.

I know it takes a while but my S11 is still charging to 100%. Anyone else’s new Apple Watch stopping at 80% yet?

Same, my AWU2 (2 years old) hit 80% and stopped every single time - did that for years.

My AWU3 - despite having the same settings, charges to 100% every single time. I'm guessing the "learning" got reset with a new device (kinda silly if you ask me).

Here is to hoping nothing changed to prevent that from happening. I kinda liked that feature (I used 30% of my battery per day on my AWU2).

I don’t have optimised charge limit kick in on my series 6 anymore. It used to when I just had it at the beginning in its first 3 months and then the last time it did that was weeks ago.

My Apple Watch had / has optimized battery charging enabled and continues to selectively wait at 80% / charge to 100% after updating to watchOS 26. There's been no change to my charging schedule, which has always been very consistent.

To ensure the feature works correctly:
Ensure that Location Services is enabled on your Apple Watch.
and
Confirm that Location Services for System Services includes Significant Locations

Yep, all settings are as they should be. Guess it is going to take a while. I, too, only use about 30% of my battery everyday so charging to 100% is not required.

Guess more patience is required.

I never cared about this 80% charging limit and my AWU2 had a capacity of 97% according to watchOS after a year of 'heavy' use. I usually discharged it to 4-5% and charged it fully. I will do the same with my new AWU3.

S10 is working correctly for me.

Will look tomorrow to see if anything changed but only time I see charging go to 100% is on Sunday when I reboot all my i*OS devices and Watch. Seems like some sort of flag/counter that gets reset at restart.

Yes my S10 has worked correctly for months. I am waiting on my new S11 to only charge to 80%.

UPDATE!

This thread must have triggered it to happen. Last night when I put it on the charger, it finally showed it was going to optimize the charge. Suspect it takes a certain number of days for it to kick in. I think you also have to be consistent with your charging times.

All is good…..

Quite a long time for that to initiate - I got the watch on the 19th of September. 16 days. I guess that's "two weeks" - interesting.
Agreed. I found when I used my Ultra 2 for a couple of days instead of my S10, it would take the S10 days before it got back to optimizing. Not sure of all the factors that effect it, only the ones that have effected me.
