Optimized iOS 7 home screen for iPad?

Apple says that ipad apps are far better than the android ones and mostly they are right. Ipad apps are optimized for the bigger screen and they don't look like oversized iPhone apps.

What I don't understand is why they don't offer an optimized home screen for the ipad and they think that it's normal to provide just an oversized iPhone home screen for the ipad.

Hopefully this will improve before iOS 7 is made public. In its current state, I agree - way too much wasted space.

The greater concern is that actual apps, not so much the home screen. A lot of the apps are just blown up iPhone apps like music, calendar, notes.
