Greetings all,
I have an Intel 1.83ghz core 2 duo macbook with a 60gb HD ( Capacity: 55.89 GB Model:TOSHIBA MK6034GSX)

Basicallly it's an old one as you can see,I got it 2nd hand,I've upgraded the ram already and now it's time to upscale the HD.
I'm looking for advice on the best (both in performance+value) HD to purchase.
Ideally I would like something in the 250gb to 320gb range.
Although I'm confident I could install it myself I'm a bit confused as to which model is the best at the moment.
Thanks for you time
Con

Just find either a western digital scorpio or a seagate momentus that fits your budget.

If you want a little more performance, you can go from a 5400RPM drive to the 7200RPM models, but the gains will be pretty slim.

For 500 GB drives, the difference between 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM is crazy in price.

For 320 GB drives, it makes little sense to get the 5400, especially if you buy something like a Seagate that is inherently quiet.

I highly recommend the ST9320421AS. I have had a 100% success rate with it. They are fast, stable, and quiet.
