As of now i have enough money to buy an iPhone 4, but its for my sister.
Thing is that i dont want them to activate it once i buy it in the store.

So is it possible to have the option to keep it unactivated until a certain date???

If you purchase the phone in the Apple Store, they must activate it before you walk out the door, but if you order from the online Apple Store and have it shipped to your house, you can activate it when ever you feel like it.

Only thing that I would worry about is whether or not holding on to the phone for that long will have any impact on length of time for return policies, etc.

I remember a couple Christmases ago when I couldn't find a Wii anywhere and I had to compromise, but with the iPhone 4, I wouldn't think supply would be a problem this holiday season.
