Options for dropping the iPhone after the 30 day return period - SIM swap???

Before calling AT&T (which I'd prefer not to) I figured I'd just ask everyone here - does anybody know if the SIM card in my iPhone would work if I stuck it in another compatible unlocked phone such as a Nokia N95 ir N96? I'm just trying to wheigh out the possibilities if I do decide to try and stick it out with the iphone and after 3 moths I'm still unhappy with Apple - what options would I have without actually having to break the contract? I wonder if I could I just stick with AT&T as my provider and have them swap me a new SIM card for any other new phone that I might purchase?
