Orange UK and iOS6

Strange one here guys and need help. I have an unlocked 3GS 16gb and just updated to iOS 6. After completion it stated I had a carrier update which I updated to. Before on the home screen in the top left corner it used to say Orange but now it says EE. Any idea why it has changed to this?
In settings it still states my carrier is Orange but is showing EE on home screen.
Any help appreciated.

it's all part of the change over to Everything Everywhere.

iPhone users might notice their phone now says EE. Don't worry, you're still an Orange customer, only the network name shown has changed.

Just read in paper today about EE taking over Orange and T Mobile.

They took over a year or so ago lol just only now they are implementing the changes

They didn't take them over. Orange & T-Mobile merged and France Telecom (owners of Orange) and Deutsche Telecom (owners of T-Mobile) set up Everything Everywhere to be the jointly owned parent company of the merged companies. Everything Everywhere have now rebranded in their own right as EE.
