This sounds promising. I asked Orb.com if they are releasing an official apps store version. Here is what they just said today. (see last response)

Hello, are you working on a native iphone 3g orb application installer? (non-jailbroken, downloaded via itunes store etc)

Sorry the current OrbLive version won't work on the 2.0 firmware, you'll have to wait for couple of weeks.

Hello, will you be submitting the Orb app to the Apple Apps store for official apple download? I dont want to jailbreak my iphone, but I might just to get orb working. Is it technically possible for you guys to release this as an official app through the apple apps store using the SDK guidelines etc?

We have already submitted OrbLive app to Apple and yet to hear from them.

We recommend you to periodically check our forum thread OrbLive - Orb on the iPhone for an update. http://forums.orb.com/viewforum.php?f=33

Problem is that Apple has been sitting on it for a while now. For what it's worth the WebApp works great with 3g in the mean time.

I have a feeling Apple's not going to let it through, although Simplify does the same thing.

the veb app only shows my music and pics. It doesnt show my video and tv tuner channels?

Sweet, thanks guys.

But yeah .... the app did that video-conversion on the fly thing that the web app doesn't seem to do (unless I'm missing something).

Hopefully with see the real Orb app soon enough.
