The Apple Store lists the present 15" stock 1ghz powerbook (2 - 256 dims) ship time at 5 - 7 days.

If one changes the order to a 1 - 512 dimm (BTO) the ship time drops to 1 - 3 days.

Is Apple blowing out inventory via BTOs and gearing up for the replacement stock models in warehouses. Is a 15" announcement close?

heres what we know:

the 12 and 17 inch powerbook are alumnium not titanium like the 15. This indicates to many that this is the new way apple is going and the 15in will be updated to an aluminum version.

The 12 and 17 have bluetooth modules, the 15 does not.

There are many semi-substantial rumors of a 15.4in LCd for a "new powerbook" the current size is 15.2in

The 12 and 17 have updates slightly more powerful video cards

The 122 and 17 have ata 100 harddrives.

All of these factors makes many usspect that the 15 will br broguht up to par with the rest.

hope this helps
