I ordered 3 watches online with the trade-in offer at checkout. Watches are shipped, not pickup.

Has anyone that had their watches shipped, successfully completed the trade-in in store?

Tryin to avoid having to mail the 3 watches and wait for the refunds.

A little different because I picked up, but I bought online for local pickup and included the trade-in in the order, and when I went to pick it up I was told in the Apple Store that since I initiated the trade-in online I couldn’t do it person. YMMV.

OK. Thanks.

Well, I did the same as you and they took the trade in in the store anyway and credited my card.

No it works.

I ordered a S4 40 mm watch with Giveback trade in (2 watches to trade) to pickup in store. I went in the store. The rep traded in the 2 watches, gave me the 2 gift cards and then applied both for the payments towards the new 40 mm watch. I had online quotes created for both traded in watches and as soon as they were traded in, I canceled them and threw the boxes in trash that were sent over to me.

As I suspected, hence the YMMV. The woman who helped me didn’t seem particularly knowledgeable. Oh well, good to know for the future.

I just picked up an S4, purchased online for local pickup (Somerset Mall, MI). I started the trade-in process when I placed the order. At pickup I asked the associate about trading in in-store and was also told that since I started the process online I had to wait for the trade-in box in the mail...

Are the offers for the trade in program the same in store as online or does the store normally quote you less?

And how does the refund work? Do they apply the amount towards your monthly payment, refund your card, or give a gift card?

Not sure how it all works, so TIA for the help!

Online vs in store values COULD be different - that’s noted on the webpage for the Give Back program (trade-in). However my series 3 watch had the same value in store as I was quoted online.

Based on my experience the value can be applied in 2 ways. If you haven’t made a purchase you’ll receive a gift card. If you’ve already made a purchase through Apple you can have them refund your card. That applies to both online or in store purchases

I was able to trade my watch in at the store. You original order confirmation email should state that if you have selected the trade in. At first they didn’t know if they could do that until they read my order confirmation email; then they just did manager override and processed it. I was able to get a refund on my CC or a GC.

Do it all in store. It’s much easier.

Well I had planned on picking up a new phone on Thursday but the only store close to me doesn’t have any. Bummer. I guess I’ll order online. I’ll probaly still stop by on Thursday to check them out in person and hopefully they’ll have some by then.

I ordered online and traded in at store as well. I just told them when I went to pick up the watch that I wanted to do a trade in. They took the full amount of the watch off my CC and then credited the trade in value back in a separate transaction. That was Saturday and I have already gotten the money back on my card. It was pretty painless. My trade in value was the same online as it was in store
