what are the chances I'll actually get both at 2 year contract price?

Apple already debited my card. Nothing yet from AT&t

Actually you might get both orders cancelled!:eek:

The system will check your upgrade status as part of the processing steps before shipping.

It happens every year, was this an accident or did you plan to order from both against the same line?

Dave

I hope you didnt try to sign up multiple times on purpose lol.

If so they both should be cancelled.

Just call AT&T if want an elaboration.

i dont have 4 hours to waste sitting on hold

theres been no activity to the att purchase. Worst comes to worst ill just sell it to one of many Chinese re-sellers in the bay area.

Worst comes to worst you'll be waiting until October to get a phone.

Did you order both as upgrades to the same phone number? Or did you upgrade one phone and add a second line?

Really? Four hours? Have you even tried to call? It doesn't take four hours. Apparently, you're not bright enough to even do a little research like calling the company to find out what's going on. Instead you want anonymous people on the Internet to tell you what's going to happen?

Yeah. Real smart.

lol. condescending ******* is condescending.

from another thread:

Pre-order remains in Attention status, with "credit card verification needed." AT&T can't handle a shipping address different from my CC billing address, I suppose. Morons.
  • Called four times on Saturday, no one was ever able to assist. "System down."
  • Called early Sunday AM, hold music for 90 minutes, no one answered.
  • Called later on Sunday, got message that they were unavailable, call back.
  • Called first thing this AM, unavailable.
  • Called a short time ago, on hold now for 20 mins and counting, with this horrid hold music that I'm going to hear in my sleep for weeks.

Plus, multiple chat attempts (can't help Premier customers) and repeated pleas on twitter to att's supposedly monitored customer care accounts. No help.

Worst. Company. Ever. I know all telecoms, and all corporations, are like this to some degree. But reading through the Verizon and Sprint preorder threads, their customers aren't being screwed over like this. AT&T is trying to break some sort of record for the worst customer service in history, I think.

So it looks like I'm going to Verizon or Apple on Friday morning, which I didn't really want to do. And it's not like I'll die if I don't get it on launch day -- though I did get the 3G, 3GS and 4 on day 1, I got the original iPhone and the 4S a couple weeks after. But I have a nice Gazelle quote on my 4S valid through October 4, and I'm leaving for a week's vacation on September 29. So if I don't have the new iPhone in hand by the 28th at the latest, I'm losing money.

dont you folks have actual jobs/lives?

I see three possibilities:

1) You receive both phones, but your credit card gets charged full no-contract price for one of them.

2) One of the orders gets cancelled before it ships.

3) Both orders get cancelled before they ship.

If I were you I would proactively try to cancel one of the orders now to guarantee that you at least get one phone.

Chances are the Apple order is OK but the AT&T order will be cancelled. I tried to place a second order at AT&T at the full price ($749 for the 32GB) after making my Apple order at the subsidized price (as I really want the no-commitment version), but the system wouldn't process it (it just kept cancelling it or wouldn't let me place it in the first place). I might try again after I've actually received and activated the Apple order (as it should switch off AT&T's system that says that I have one pending order) and try again, or else I might just get one in the store assuming it dies down before the 30-day rescission period ends on my new contract (10/14/12).
