Just ordered my new macbook pro

Spec is:
MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display
Country kit
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
SuperDrive 8X (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW)
2.66GHz Intel Core i7
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
Backlit Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)

now should i have ordered the 512 Solid state drive? or will the 500G 7200 be just as good?

Thanks

Wes

you will see a significant difference in performance with an SSD, but i suggest waiting a few months. The current 512 gb SSD costs as much as the base macbook pro

Congrats! I just ordered the same specs (but with HR AG screen).

Am also getting an SSD, but I'm going for the Intel X25-M G2. Did a lot of research here on the forums and it seems like the safest bet performance- and quality-wise. Heard good things about the OCZ Vertex for Mac series too, but they only come in 120GB. The Intel is 160GB which I prefer.
