I preordered my M5 iPad with the nano texture glass by accident! Am I going to want to take it right in and exchange it? I use it mostly indoors.
I did some research on it and concerns seem to be reduced saturation and blacks and really hard to keep it clean?I use matte screen protectors on my iPhone/iPads - and love the nano texture on my Apple Studio Display that I use indoors all day long (to type this).
Unless $ is a consideration, I'd encourage you to keep it - even indoors.
If I had $, I'd have an iPad with it. Till then an iCarez Matte screen protector sits on my iPhone/iPad.![]()
I find it's easier to keep clean because it doesn't show dust/dirt as much as a glossy screen does.I did some research on it and concerns seem to be reduced saturation and blacks and really hard to keep it clean?
Well that’s kinda moot because I already bought it lol. The decision is whether or not to open it and try it or just return. Not worth the added price in my opinion
Well, at this point it depends on your budget.Well that’s kinda moot because I already bought it lol. The decision is whether or not to open it and try it or just return.

The nano is very useful indoors. I have a nano iMac and without the nano, I would get a lot of glare and screen reflection. I think you should keep what you ordered.I preordered my M5 iPad with the nano texture glass by accident! Am I going to want to take it right in and exchange it? I use it mostly indoors.

Yeah that’s true. I might use it for a day or two. I read that blacks are not as black and color saturation is lower than the regular screen. True? How is it moot? You can choose to return it and order a regular one.
It really depends on your lighting. In a dark room or a room with controlled lighting, they’re going to look identical (I have had both in the past). In rooms with lots of natural or artificial lighting, or outdoors, the nano may look a bit less contrasty and colorful *but* the glossy will show tons of reflections which are very distracting and can cause eye fatigue. These forums fail to understand how the glass works; it works by diffusing and scattering bright lighting across the display when bright lighting exists.Yeah that’s true. I might use it for a day or two. I read that blacks are not as black and color saturation is lower than the regular screen. True?
You should at least try it. I really like my M4 Nano. Use it without having it right next to a glossy screen and see how your eyes view it. My eyes find it very relaxing.Well that’s kinda moot because I already bought it lol. The decision is whether or not to open it and try it or just return.
Agreed. While the 17 Pro screen was REALLY nice and had reduced reflectivity from my 15 Pro Max... I had to throw a matte screen protector on it (my wife went with one too). You should at least try it. I really like my M4 Nano. Yeah, what I did was brought it into the Apple store unopened and looked that theirs side by side and actually liked the nano screen. I started using mine last night and love it.You should at least try it. I really like my M4 Nano. Use it without having it right next to a glossy screen and see how your eyes view it. I wasn't aware it was more prone to scratching. Now you have me thinking...Nano scratches easily and diminishes some of the qualities of the OLED technology, but if your use case specifically benefits from it, it is well-reviewed
