I use matte screen protectors on my iPhone/iPads - and love the nano texture on my Apple Studio Display that I use indoors all day long (to type this).

Unless $ is a consideration, I'd encourage you to keep it - even indoors.

If I had $, I'd have an iPad with it. Till then an iCarez Matte screen protector sits on my iPhone/iPad. :D

I did some research on it and concerns seem to be reduced saturation and blacks and really hard to keep it clean?

I find it's easier to keep clean because it doesn't show dust/dirt as much as a glossy screen does.

One big advantage of my iCarez matte screen protectors - lack of fingerprints on glossy screens. Makes using the iPad/iPhone so much more amazing. That reason alone is worth it.

Easy to clean imo - just a slightly wet t-shirt and it cleans easier than a glossy screen.

The reason why it's harder to keep clean is that using cleaning liquid is not recommended. I use Whoosh! and while I have the polishing cloth, I have tried to clean my (non nano) iPads with just that and it's much harder than using liquid especially when it's more than just fingerprints (I use my iPad in the kitchen often).

Well that’s kinda moot because I already bought it lol. The decision is whether or not to open it and try it or just return.

I compared both screens in-store last year, and--while the visual fidelity of the Nano Screen was quite nice--the bump to 1TB+ (and dent to my wallet (sp. because of my limited use-case)) didn't sway me.

IMHO . . . if the $¥£€ is not a concern, keep it :)

If you’re okay with not having that $100, keep the nano. I am in love with the nano on my M4 and ordered the same thing for the M5. I want nano on everything now

I intentionally ordered it on mine and I greatly prefer it, even though I also mostly use it indoors. It eliminates reflections from overhead lights and from nearby windows, which I appreciate, and I prefer the texture when using the Pencil. But if you live in a place with a decent evaluation/return policy, you might as well give it a shot and see if you like it.

Yeah that’s true. I might use it for a day or two. I read that blacks are not as black and color saturation is lower than the regular screen. True?
It really depends on your lighting. In a dark room or a room with controlled lighting, they’re going to look identical (I have had both in the past). In rooms with lots of natural or artificial lighting, or outdoors, the nano may look a bit less contrasty and colorful *but* the glossy will show tons of reflections which are very distracting and can cause eye fatigue. These forums fail to understand how the glass works; it works by diffusing and scattering bright lighting across the display when bright lighting exists.

at the same price I would hesitate . for 150 bucks more though? definitely not worth it

the advantages are obvious, but so are the drawbacks. elevated blacks namely, grain.

You should at least try it. I really like my M4 Nano. Use it without having it right next to a glossy screen and see how your eyes view it. My eyes find it very relaxing.

Agreed. While the 17 Pro screen was REALLY nice and had reduced reflectivity from my 15 Pro Max... I had to throw a matte screen protector on it (my wife went with one too).

Once you go matte you can't go back lol.

Unless you got a regular display iPad next to you you likely won’t even be able to tell a difference. I first had to check I had the correct config with the nano texture. After a year with my M4 iPad Pro I don’t wanna go back to the regular display with its reflections.

Yeah, what I did was brought it into the Apple store unopened and looked that theirs side by side and actually liked the nano screen. I started using mine last night and love it.

Nano scratches easily and diminishes some of the qualities of the OLED technology, but if your use case specifically benefits from it, it is well-reviewed

I wasn't aware it was more prone to scratching. Now you have me thinking...
