Okay, so I've ordered a 20" iMac with 2GB RAM, 256MB VRAM & 500GB HD. :D

But I've waited a long time for the iMac to be upgraded, and I was disappointed with nothing coming this MacWorld...

Anyway, I just came to a realization that I really don't need a better machine then what they are currently offering.

So, I'm basically just letting the world know that I'm at peace with Apple. I salute them for their great innovations, and I'll buy their Fantastic (I mean it) iPhone. :)

Mitra.

P.S.: My older brother & my younger sister is also saving for the iPhone.

Just curious as to why you're dumping your current iMac. Its only a year old!

...Seriously, just curious.

Waited a really long time? It wasn't upgraded all that long ago (taking into consideration that it is usually updated every several months on average) But anyhow, you will LOVE your machine. I am using the same thing, and it is b*tchin

Yeah. I'm typing on one now, and after basically a whole night of getting this thing running nicely (****ing mouse) with bootcamp so i can run games, lots of lovely bits of freeware from www.freemacware.com. This thing totally smokes XP, I haven't ran application thats put the CPUmeter past 60 yet... Does anyone know how to turn of page filing?

The first time I opened up firefox to teh full size of the screen I was dumstruck. Makes using a 15 " crt feel like torture.

You have to put into consideration that monitor size is like heroin. After a while you are going to need more to get that same feeling back. Like my 19'' flat screen i have now (still running on pc  ) seemed like I was "over doing it" with the screen real estate compared to the 15'' i had before it. Since I saw the 24'' monitor at the apple store, 19'' seems to be a little strainful on the ol' eyes :)

me too!

Im about to drop into the same machine

20"
250GB (i need 2 drives, ill have my scratch external)
1GB (apples prices on ram...um? id rather 2GB but maybe not stock)
256 X1600

from my

1.8 DP G5
2.5GB (8 slot model)
2x160GB
9800 128
7.1 m-audio pci card

but i am keeping my 19" Viewsonic CRT for more desktop space!

to OP, what did you end up paying, if you dont mind me asking?

You paid $1200 for a new 20" iMac? Tell me@!

IEatApples, Congrats! I would have bought (almost) the same spec 20" iMac if I did not need portability.

well i just mean with edu discount you can pretty much spend ABOUT that much.

but over $2000 for an imac!?

smoking Imac

I got my new Imac 20" just mTuesday set up turned it on and 1/2 hr later the screen went blank. I got it mail order from a non apple store. I called apple and they said to take it to a apple service center which I did, they would not replace it ,but they will repair it. They said that if I sent it back to the place I got it from I would get it replaced. I opped to get it repaired at the apple store. The moral to this story is watch where you buy from, I ordered mine on Jan 3 and still do not have a working computer.

PS I still want my Mac. I have waited a number of years for one so a little longer won't hurt. I was just a little disapointed with the way apple handled my problem.
