Is it possible to order a custom-built iPhone 6S Plus with 256GB of storage from Apple? Money no object. Thanks.

I don't think the Apple custom shop will build a phone with any less than 1TB of storage and 4GB of RAM, but if money is no object then you should be good to go if you are OK with the greater capacity. Also, think this is only available in Rose Gold.

Let's actually get to whether or not this is possible.

Would a 256gb SSD chip have the same mount points as the 128gb SSD chip? Assuming you can unsurface mount the 128gb and resurface the 256gb chip, would you need additional low-level drivers to control the extra space? Or do you think the iOS kernel is smart enough to know the extra size?

You are putting way more logical thought into this than is warranted. Money is no object man, get with the program.

Forget about the iPhone and go with another make that offers SD cards. It is sad that the iPhone doesn't support additional storage but hey, Apple has a market model with built in obsolescence so...sorry folks..it ain't in the cards.

There's no Apple "built on obsolescence" any more than any other electronic device, computer, etc. And what has this got to do with someone thinking they can get Apple to custom build them an iPhone?

Apple has its version of BTO and that is all it has. There is no customizing and if one wanted more storage, they have to look elsewhere. I am unsure of what you don't understand. Apple as well wants all hardware on cycle purchases by customers with nothing to last more than 2-4 years. I don't believe I have to explain that one to you as history has shown it on various times of hardware changes by Apple and the respective support and OS.

Folks let nothing get in the way of a good conspiracy. :D

If only endless amounts of money meant that the laws of reality could simply be wished away or changed.
