Ordering in store, Question about sales tax

I was wondering if the sales tax of the phone (taxed $650 even when you get it subsidized for 199) is based on where your phone bill is or where youre getting the iphone itself from? I tried calling verizon but they couldnt give a clear answer, thanks!
 
so that means its the store I buy it from right? not my billing address?
 
Yes that means if you pick it up from a store in CA you will be charged CA sales tax.

My billing is in fullerton which is 7.75%, the apple store i want to go to is in cerritos (closer to work) which is 8.75%. i know 1% isn't a big deal but its still a good amount since its being taxed on 650 and 750 (buying two subs phones). So am I going to be charged the 7.75 because thats where Im being billed or 8.75 because thats where im picking up the phone?

If its mailed to you then its according to your billing/shipping zip code.
If you're picking it up at the store it goes according to the stores zip but not 100%.
You can call and ask to be certain.

It would be based on the POS tax. If it's online being shipped to your home, its that home tax rate. If you are buying at a store, it would be that store's tax rate

I'm pretty sure they are going to charge you the Cerritos rate because that is where the item is physically located during the sale.

Did you order online and selected to pick up in store?
